Virtual Summer Sabbath
“Chosen and Fruitful: Hagar & Hannah”
June 9, 6:30 - 8:00 pm
Women of all ages are invited to join us as Rev. Toi King and Amy Lyles Wilson lead us in a study of two women in the Bible who overcame challenges with God’s help. Hagar, slave-girl to Abraham’s wife Sarah, was rejected and exiled from her home and left to die. Hannah, unable to conceive, was scorned and shamed by her community. These women, despised and rejected by humans, were chosen and made fruitful by God. Learn what their stories can teach us about our own experiences of rejection and shame and how God can make our lives fruitful.
Rev. Toi will lead us in Bible teaching, and spiritual director and writing coach, Amy Lyles Wilson, will lead us in an interactive time of free writing and sharing. As always, there will be time for discussion and sharing.
